Having Right Attitudes and Behaviors![]() The local bible-believing church must always strive to maintain a healthy church body in the midst of a fallen world. The apostle Paul was consistently concerned with guiding churches to be Christlike in their doctrines and attitudes toward one another and the lost world around them. In Romans 16, Paul provides the the church with both example and direct instruction about some attitudes necessary for the church to be spiritually healthy.
Earthly Hope; Finding God's Purpose for Your Life on Earth![]() Have you ever felt like all you hoped for in life has slipped away and now you're only left hoping for heaven? God doesn't want you to just drift through life hoping to die and for the suffering to end. He has a purpose for creating you. In Romans 15, a careful study of the apostle Paul's hopes and aspirations provides us with a model for having goals worth living for in a life that, without God, is utterly meaningless.
Unity and Division within the Local Bible-believing Church![]() We are Fundamentalists because we agree that there are "fundamentals" of our faith. There are certain doctrines that are essential to the Christian faith which cannot be compromised. But there are also other nonessential issues which have the potential to cause division within the local church. When looking for a local church, a believer should know what's most important and should decide if he can worship and serve there, with a clear conscience, even when the church leadership has set a tone and taken a clear position on the less essential issues.
Some Behaviors God is Pleased to See in the Local ChurchBelievers Must be Consistent![]() Christians today need to be consistent in their walks with the Lord. If your faith is genuine then you'll consistently think of God, trust Him consistently during the trials of life, and have a testimony consistently pleasing to Him. TEXT: Daniel 2-3
Giving Glory to God with your Life![]() Because of the evil influence of society around us, many Christians are succumbing to the ways of this world. In past generations, most Americans went to church on Sundays, knew familiar bible stories could recite passages from memory. The bible had a prominent voice in society and had at least a moral influence on the citizenry. Today, the situation is reversed. A Godless conversation in society has dominance. Even believers are using the world’s language, having the world’s thoughts, and desiring the things of this world more than the things of God. Today we need believers willing to stand up for what’s right; believers who desire to bring glory to God with their lives. What is it that you desire most?
Some Truths to Know in the Midst of Trials![]() Despite how much you long to have everything go smoothly in life, you will often experience troubles. How do you handle those challenges when they come? Do you get angry? Frustrated? Depressed? Today's message addresses some truths to keep in mind while in the midst of trials.
God is in Charge![]() This Christmas, while bickering noise continues to permeate society, let's remember that God is always in charge. Nothing happens without Him allowing it. The record of the virgin birth shows God's will continues now and throughout eternity future.
Has Your Heart Grown Cold Toward Fellow Believers?![]() There is something tragically wrong in the church today. Gossip destroys, hurts abound, and hearts have grown cold toward one another. Oh on the surface everything appears alright, but deep down inside something terribly unkind is going on. True brotherly love is nearly extinct. How might Christ work in you to be the example of brotherly love God wants you to be?
Your Life's Mission![]() Wherever you are in the timeline of life, you need to make the best use of the time you have left. Based on Matthew 9:35-38, that means seeking God’s will in prayer, serving Him, and having compassion for those truly in need. Whatever the specific mission of your life, submit your remaining years to Christ and make your life a benefit to the kingdom of heaven. Your presence is requested.
All Believers Need True Christian Fellowship![]() Do you go to church on Sundays, sing, pray, read the Bible, hear a sermon, and then have meaningless surface conversations with those present? Do you live week to week without any deep, meaningful fellowship with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ?
Rather than waiting for fellowship to just mysteriously happen, it should begin with you. But it's more than just an outward effort. Your heart has to be right with God. Once your thoughts regarding other believers mirror the way Jesus views them, only then can you move beyond superficiality and truly speak and act in ways that engender genuine Christian fellowship. God Uses Discomfort to Cause you to Change![]() You don’t like experiencing discomfort in life. You always want everything to go smoothly with every need met and a life abundant with blessings. But when uncomfortable situations arise, you should recognize them as
opportunities from God for you to make a specific change in your life. God speaks to you through difficult trials. He sometimes allows you to experience discomfort to get you to make a change. Sometimes the change is with your circumstances. Other times, God wants you to change an ungodly belief. And yet other times, He allows discomfort to bring to light a problem in your heart that needs to be corrected. Whatever you face, begin to see the trials in life as methods God uses to get your attention. Is he directing you to make a change in your circumstances, in what you believe, or in your heart? Today's Text: Acts 8:1-14 Being Honest about your Weaknesses![]() How refreshing it is when a brother in Christ is honest about his limited capabilities. Christians too often construct impregnable walls which prevent others from knowing what’s truly in the heart.
If you’ll learn to be honest in your heart with yourself and with those around you (your limited abilities, shortcomings, challenges in life), you’ll be surprised at how God can tear down walls and use you to encourage others, open doors, and build up the faith.
