IS GOD REAL?

An Excellent Question
One of the benefits of hosting a website is having the ability to see what kinds of questions people "Google."  Recently, someone typed in, "Is God Real?"  So I thought, "that's one of the best questions I've ever seen anyone ask."

A Question I Once Asked Too
When I was 12, I laid down on my bed, closed my eyes, and for the very first time in my life, asked this question to God;  “God, if you’re real then show me.”  Although that’s the only time I remember asking this question to God directly, the thought was always in the back of my mind. It seemed that life was too big and too intricate to not have been created by some Divine Being.  I also wondered what happens after people die and why this life is so difficult.  Eventually, God answered my questions indirectly, through the help of other people who cared enough to spend some time teaching me the answers from the Bible.

Our Tangible Expectations
We live in a world that is very tangible.  We can see with our eyes and feel with our touch everything material.  We can also know Laws of Nature exist by observation.  But God is not Someone we can touch today.  God is not someone we can directly observe today.  In fact, God has told us in the Bible that "the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:18). So we have to acquire our knowledge of Him in a way that is unobservable in nature.

The Conclusion of a Creator
The observable world can lead us to the conclusion that there must have been an Intelligent Designer/Creator.  One can come to this conclusion by observing nature; trees, animal life, cosmology, the beauty of creation, etc…, that Someone intelligent brought these things into existence.  The fact that the earth rotates around the sun, that the earth spins, that the earth is the exact distance from the sun to make life possible, this is all the handiwork of God.  Too much in this world works with precision to attribute it all to random chance after some so-called “Big Bang.”  Even if we concede that there was a so-called Big Bang, from where did the materials of the universe originate?  It’s not possible for something to ever come from nothing.

Evolution is Dead
Despite what we hear in popular culture today, The Theory of Evolution, that we evolved from lower species, has been proven incorrect by scientists.  There is no absolutely no evidence of any intermediary species between monkeys and man.  The truth about creation can be found in the early chapters Genesis.

An Intelligent Language
Scientists today have also noticed the signature of design in DNA.  There is an intelligent language written in every cell.  And the only explanation for the existence of an intelligent language is an intelligent Communicator of that language.  This science is called “Intelligent Design” and has completely dumbfounded atheists and skeptics from a scientific perspective.

Divinely-Revealed Truth
We can certainly see evidence of a Creator in the observable world but wouldn’t it be nice if God could write in a book about Himself and how everything came to be so we could just read it and understand?  That’s exactly what He did.  He gave us the Bible; penned by the hands of men that were divinely inspired by God’s Holy Spirit.  This is why we call the Bible "God’s Word."  The only way to know for sure that God is real and the Author of all creation is by reading what God has revealed to us directly in His Word.

You’re Asking the Right Question
So if you want to know if God is real then you’ve have begun well by asking the best possible question; "God, are you real?”  A few years after I asked that question, God answered by showing me the answer in the Bible.  God created everything.  God sustains everything.  But the Bible tells us so much more.  The Bible explains why there is sin in the world.  The Bible explains why I am a sinner.  The Bible explains why we all die.  The Bible explains what happens after we die.  And the Bible explains what God has done to make it possible for us to know God and have eternal life.

Find the Answer in God's Word
Start to know that God is real by reading the books of John and Romans in the Bible.  And keep asking God to answer your question.  I'm confident that if you seriously want to know then God will answer you, as He answered me. This is the most important question of your life because it has eternal consequences.  What you really need to know is what happens after this life.  As Jeremy Taylor has succinctly stated, "God hath given to man a short time here upon earth, and yet upon this short time eternity depends." So please read the Bible and let me know if I can be of help to you as you investigate God’s existence and so much more.

That's an entirely different question than "Is God Real." The assumption in your question is that God is not real. But the evidence of his realness is found in everything He created, everything we see, hear, touch, and smell. To deny the reality of creation is absurd, and I'm sure you acknowledge that creation is real. Perhaps your question comes from being hurt, from sensing that God was not there when you needed Him in the midst of a difficult time. Every human being is not the child of God. So if you're estranged from Him then why would He rush to help you in your dilemma? The Bible tells us that God cannot stand sin in His presence. He says you're a sinner and must repent, trust that Jesus Christ died for your sins and was raised from the grave. He wants to wash your sins away. If you believe this in your heart and profess it with your mouth then you'll know God is real. You'll be saved from eternal separation from God. If you don't really want an answer to this question then God will give you the answer when you stand before Him in judgment someday. Then you'll know God is real. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9 . Hopefully, you'll get over this hurt and truly seek the truth. God's word, the Bible, is truth.
