Behaving Like a Genuine Believer
As a believer in God's will matures over time he progressively grows more Christlike, more holy. In Ephesians 4, Paul tells us to "put off" the "old man" (old nature), be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and "put on" the "new man" (new nature). Last week Pastor Rogol emphasized the importance of a change in what goes on in our minds. Our thinking must change first if our behavior is to change. We must think more about "things above" rather than "things below." In today's message the emphasis is on letting that new thinking affect our behavior. What does "putting on the new man" look like in practical ways? What does it mean to live as a genuine Christian? Right living is a result of right thinking.
